Opening Story:

In Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher, you've been called in on yet another mysterious case, this time, by a Dr. Morris who is treating the Usher Twins, Madeleine and Roderick. The two have a strange connection, as if they were one living organism, and what happens to one, affects the other. Now, Madeleine has gone missing and they fear for Roderick's safety as well. It's up to you and Dupin to solve this mysterious case, find Madeleine, and discover why people from the town have gone missing without a trace!

General Tips for Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher

Difficulty Settings - There are three difficulty settings for you to choose from: Casual, Advanced, and Hard. You can change your difficulty setting at any time as you play by clicking on the menu button in the bottom left.

Speech Bubble - WHen your cursor turns into a speech bubble, it means you can talk to that character.

Navigation Arrow - When your cursor turns into an arrow, this means you are able to move to the next screen.

Journal - Your journal is stored in the bottom left hand corner of your screen and hold your notes and observations that you make during your investigation.

Eye - When your cursor turns into an eye, it means you can zoom in on an area and get a closer look or discover more information about an area.

Hand Cursor - When your cursor turns into a hand, it means you can pick up an item or interact with it in some way.

Hints - Hints can be found in lower right hand corner. Click on it if you're stuck and need some assistance. Remember this will take time to charge depending on what difficulty setting you are playing on.

Inventory - Your inventory can be found at the bottom of the screen. Hover your mouse over the bottom to bring it up. Click the arrow in the middle to lock the inventory in place. Click on an item to use it.

Photographs - Thorughout your investigation, you'll find photographs that were taken by the detective before you. Find the areas they are depicting and you'll be able to search that area for clues.

Camera - Your camera is in the bottom left. Click on it to take a picture that will be stored in your study.

Houses - You'll find houses scattered throughout your investigation. Use the magnifying glass to find the coins hidden in the houses. The coins can be used to purchase equipment for your lap where you'll be able to work on another mini-case.

Map - The map will tell you where you are. Click on it in the bottom left hand corner of your screen to open it. Click on an area to fast travel to that location.

Hidden Object Scenes - Hidden object scenes will sparkle. Read the clues to find the item hidden in the scene. If you don't feel like play the hog, you can click to the puzzle mode instead.

Mini-Games - During mini-games, if you are having trouble or maybe you just don't feel like solving it, you can click on the skip button. You also have the option to choose between the casual version of the game and the hard version of the game.

Reborn One - Once you discover the reborn one, he can transform stone items to life. Just click on his bottom in the right hand corner and then click on the stone item to activate his powers.
